I was bummed out when I learned that "every new beginning comes from some other beginning's end" wasn't actually invented by Semisonic. But it's a valuable sentiment, like tonight when my intended destination closed at least 3 hours before its stated time, and then I pivoted to Sol Chicken. I'm certainly curious about the ceviche but figured I should go for the namesake poultry. The half chicken had exemplary skin, and when you're on the more mellow interior sections, that's when the green sauce gets to work. I also enjoyed the sopa a la criolla. The service was outstanding.
It's my second time here and I still enjoy the food. Note that a service charge (gratuity/ tip) is already included in your bill. The chicken was well seasoned and not too salty. Papa a la huancaina was yummy and the sauce wasn't salty. The Salad was an abundant amount. The seafood soup was good as well. It has mussels, calamari, fish, and shrimp. I must say if you order platanos you do get a lot! I like the chicha morada here too as it's not super sweet. Buen provecho :)
This place has gone through some new management and they have been trying. Miss the old staff but this new one is really doing a great job. I have recently ordered from them twice to-go and I am loving their "sason" flavor. I will get the courage to eat in the dinning room soon when I am fully vaccinated but for now I am loving the food to take home. Great portions and fresh tasty food. Some of their entree brings me back to that good old Peruvian home cooking. Here's a tip ask for the "El Menu de dia" Menu of the day, list item. My favorite, when they have it, is Cau cau (tripe stew). Doing a great job with the take out and the waiter there is a super friendly and helpful guy. Keep it up guys.
We love this place. The chicken is always juicy. The staff is always accommodating. I applaud them for not using styrofoam anymore.
This is a new Peruvian spot in Union City, good atmosphere, good music, the rotisserie chicken is good, not overcooked or dry, just right, now their beans were also good, never had beans like theirs anywhere before, the gravy was nice and thick, not like others that the gravy runs like water, oh and their green hot sauce goes great with the chicken, no too hot or spice, has the right amount of kick to it, I give this place five stars, very satisfying and I'm stuffed.
We came here with a large group of 12 people. It is a small spot but they were able to seat us. Staff was very friendly! The food came out fast considering everything we ordered. They have a nice selection of drinks made with variety of Pisco. We got the Ceviche Mixto which was nicely dressed. Also got the rotisserie chicken which was flavorful. Worth a visit
This is the place to go for real deal rotisserie chicken. Perhaps among the absolute best I've had in the area, and there are very good chicken places here. I've had the ceviche here before also, and it's very good, but I think the chicken is the Sol reason to come here. The combo deal is the way to go.. For $11-12 total price (counting tax and tip), I got 1/2 a chicken and 2 sides. I personally thought the dark meat was 1000x better (it's my preference anyway). Totally worth it. One of my favorite spots in the area.
